Major Function
Scope of work:

The Department of Health Engineering (HED) is entrusted with the responsibility of implementing the construction, up-gradation, expansion, repair and renovation of all health and family planning infrastructure/facilities from the ward level to 100 beds at the district level. In addition, district hospitals, national level hospitals, Construction, upgrading, expansion, repair and renovation of specialized hospitals, medical colleges and hospitals are also implemented by HED.

Division wise distribution of work:

According to the scope of work of HED, construction, repair and renovation of community clinics at ward level, construction, up-gradation, repair and renovation of union health and family welfare centers at union level, construction of new 31/50 bed upazila health complex at upazila level, upgradation of existing upazila health complexes from 31 beds. Up-gradation work to 50 beds, construction of new 10-bed mother and child welfare center, construction of district/upazila store, construction of MATs, FWVTI, IHT, nursing institute, nursing college, diabetic hospital, child hospital etc. and other works directed by the Ministry are vested in Health Engineering Department (HED)
